Individual Basic DBS Application

As an Individual, legislation allows you to only submit and access a Basic DBS check. Standard and Enhanced checks can only be submitted by employers.

Basic DBS Check is for people working in England and Wales. It can be obtained for any purpose including employment. The certificate will contain details of convictions and conditional cautions.

Important Notice

You are applying for a Basic DBS Check

Our process means that we will manually go through your application, ensuring all details are correct. A human verification ensures that there will be no unnecessary delays

You will not be able to change or upgrade it to an Enhanced/Standard DBS Check

If you require an Enhanced/Standard DBS Check an employer or organisation will need to apply on your behalf via our organisation service

Should you wish to cancel your order, an administration fee of £25.00 + VAT will be chargeable. If you Application has been processed no refund can be issued

I hereby authorise HRcheck to verify the information presented in my application for a criminal record check, for the purpose of performing a Basic Disclosure check through the relevant Executive Agency.

I understand that Disclosure and Barring Service, Disclosure Scotland and Access Northern Ireland are Executive Agencies that carry out specific checks and then issue certificates which give details of an individual's criminal convictions, or state that they have none.

If required I authorise the organisation requesting this check to scan and upload the completed certificate into the online Basic Disclosure application system to enable a recruitment decision to be made. I confirm that my consent is explicit, fully informed and freely given for the purposes of obtaining a disclosure certificate as stated above.

All information requested is used solely for the purpose of obtaining a Basic Disclosure certificate and is collected, stored and processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. HRcheck treat all personal information as confidential and will not disclose it to any third party except: (i) with the applicant’s prior agreement; (ii) as necessary for providing our disclosure service; or (iii) as required by law.

Any organisation which uses the online Basic Disclosure DBS application system is obliged to sign a service contract requiring them to abide by the Data Protection Act 1998 and have a policy for secure storage, handling, use, retention and disposal of Disclosures and Disclosure Information.

The Executive Organisation will refer the details provided on this application form to government and law enforcement bodies in accordance with any relevant legislation. The details provided to these bodies will be used for identifying possible matches to records held by them. Where such a match is established, data may be released to the Disclosure and Barring Service, Disclosure Scotland or Access Northern Ireland for inclusion on any certificate issued. The details provided on this form may be used to update the records held by the bodies specified above.

By signing this declaration, I agree that I have provided complete and true information in support of the application and that I understand that knowingly making a false statement for this purpose is a criminal offence.

I have read and understood the DBS statement of fair processing and consent to the Responsible Organisation receiving an electronic notification once the application has been processed which states either the ‘Certificate contains no information’ or ‘Please wait to view applicant certificate’.
