Standard DBS Check

What is a Standard DBS Check?

A standard check will show spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings.

Who Can Apply

A person will be eligible for a Standard DBS if they are undertaking a role listed in the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975. This includes a number of positions, professions, licences and activities. However, only employers can request a Standard Disclosure on behalf of an employee. Current legislation in England and Wales does not allow individuals or self-employed people to apply for a Standard DBS Check on themselves.
