Cancellations

Cancellation Policy

  1. Processing and Charges
We reserve the right to process and charge in full for any DBS disclosures unless a written notice of cancellation has been received prior to the submission of the application to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Submission timelines may vary, and as such, cancellation requests are not guaranteed. All cancellation requests will be assessed on a case-by-case basis at our sole discretion, and acceptance of a cancellation request does not imply any obligation to accept future requests.

  2. DBS Checks
Once a DBS check has been submitted to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), it cannot be cancelled or refunded under any circumstances. This applies to all levels of DBS checks, including Basic, Standard, and Enhanced checks. Additionally, a Basic DBS check cannot be upgraded or converted into a Standard or Enhanced DBS check. If a higher-level check is required, a new application must be submitted, and the relevant fee paid.

  3. Cancellation Fees
A cancellation fee of £25 plus VAT will apply to all cancellations, including but not limited to those related to one-time setup fees. This fee is payable immediately upon the approval of a cancellation request and is non-negotiable. The cancellation fee is intended to cover administrative costs incurred prior to submission.

  4. Refunds
Refunds, where applicable, will only be processed if a cancellation request has been received and approved before the submission of the application to the DBS. Refunds will be made to the original payment method and may take up to 14 business days to process. No refunds will be issued for DBS checks once the application has been submitted.

  5. Fraudulent Transactions
Notwithstanding the above, you are entitled to cancel a payment for products where fraudulent use of your payment card has been made by a third party who is not acting, or deemed to be acting, as your agent. If you believe a payment has been fraudulently processed using your payment card, you should contact your card issuer immediately to seek re-credit to your account. We shall bear no liability for any loss arising from fraudulent transactions.

  6. Force Majeure
We shall not be held liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under this policy due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, pandemics, strikes, war, governmental actions, or failures of third-party service providers.

  7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability under these terms, whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, shall be limited to the total amount paid by you for the relevant DBS check. Under no circumstances shall we be liable for any indirect, consequential, or special losses, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or reputation.

  8. Termination of Service
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to terminate or restrict your use of our services at any time, with or without cause. In the event that your use of our services is terminated due to a breach of these terms and conditions, such termination will take effect immediately and without prior notice. No refunds will be issued in the event of termination resulting from a breach of these terms.

  9. Amendments
We reserve the right to amend this cancellation policy at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website or direct communication to you. It is your responsibility to review this policy periodically to ensure you are aware of any updates.
